Earlobes Could Show Signs of Stroke

The Earlobe as a Sign
The earlobe sign, also known as the Frank’s sign is a crease that is diagonal across the ear. Out of 241 patients studied by researchers in Israel who were hospitalized with stroke, at least 79% of them had the Frank’s sign.
Most of these strokes are the highest occurring type called acute ischemic, where a blockage cuts off blood supply to the brain. This type of stroke can be deadly if not treated quickly. This is where the Frank’s sign comes in.
This crease in the earlobe may have different signs and symptoms to accompany it including poor blood supply to the earlobes or weakening of the blood vessels. These symptoms can cause stroke quickly. Aging is also a crucial part of stroke as well as these other symptoms. If your loved one is aging and experiencing symptoms of stroke, it is important to get them help immediately through emergency services. If your loved one is not experiencing immediate symptoms, but does have the Frank’s sign, you may want to get your loved one checked for other signs of stroke – before the worst should happen.
